ĐẮK LẮK — A workplace accident at the construction site on the Quy Nhơn-Chí Thạnh Expressway, passing through Bình Chính Hamlet, Tuy An Bắc Commune in Đắk Lắk Province, left two workers dead and another injured on Monday.
According to initial reports, the incident occurred at around 9am at km62+00 when seven workers were building a spillway by spraying concrete from a hose onto manually erected formwork panels.
When the work reached about three-quarters of the slope, the formwork structure gave way.
As a result, three workers, N.B.N., 45, from Xuân Phú Hamlet, Tuy An Đông Commune; T.T.M., 55, from Phú Mỹ Hamlet, Tuy An Bắc Commune; and a man from Diêm Điền Hamlet, Tuy An Đông Commune fell to the foot of the slope and were buried under the collapsed concrete.
N.B.N. and T.T.M. died at the scene, while the third man sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Phú Yên General Hospital for emergency treatment.
Local police are investigating the cause of the accident.— VNS
