HÀ NỘI — A new e-visa application portal will soon be launched with multiple improvements for user’s convenience, according to the Immigration Department under the Ministry of Public Security.
Starting from November 11, the e-visa website thithucdientu.gov.vn will be operating alongside the current evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn –which has been processing more than 15,000 applications every day.
“The new user interface has been upgraded and improved, with a FAQ section available in both English and Vietnamese,” said a representative of the immigration department.
Since August 15 last year, Việt Nam’s e-visa validity has been extended to 90 days to facilitate international arrivals in the country.
However, many tourists have entered their information into non-official websites, or submitted incorrect or incomplete information on the official e-visa portal by mistake, prolonging the time to process their e-visa.
Therefore, the Immigration Department advises that applicants make sure they are accessing the official e-visa portals and fill out their full information as required to avoid having their applications rejected.
E-visa applicants should also familiarise themselves with the local regulations regarding entry, transit and stays in Việt Nam and ensure that their activities are correctly reflected in their request for entry.
According to the Immigration Department, the number of international visitors to Việt Nam is on the rise and has returned to pre-pandemic levels. The country aims to welcome 17-18 million visitors over the whole of 2024.
With the goal of further strengthening administrative reforms, the Immigration Department said it is open to feedback and comments, and will make appropriate and necessary adjustments for service improvement in the near future.
