HCM CITY – The Vietnam Medical Association and AstraZeneca in collaboration with VNews television, on Saturday  launched an online seminar series named “Giá Như 2024-2025” to enhance awareness of and inspire the community to prioritise health and adopt healthy lifestyles.

It will consist of live streaming sessions broadcast on the "GIÁ NHƯ - Hiểu sớm, Hiểu đúng, Sống khỏe" fan page from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on the last Saturday of each month.

The episodes will be rebroadcast on VNews television at 7:45 PM the following Sunday.

Giá Như 2024-2025 will feature seminars and discussions led by invited guests and medical experts from Việt Nam for raising awareness about non-communicable and chronic diseases.

The inaugural live stream, coinciding with World Heart Day on September 29 with the theme "Action from the Heart," delves into "Controlling blood lipids to prevent myocardial infarction and strokes" and offers crucial insights on managing and preventing cardiovascular diseases, a leading health concern.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Health, the incidence of common non-communicable diseases has risen rapidly with a significant number of people now affected.

The healthcare sector faces challenges related to public awareness of chronic and life-threatening diseases, partly due to limited health literacy.

Encouraging a deeper understanding of health among the populace is pivotal as it fosters disease prevention, early detection and optimal treatment practices.

The initial "Giá Như" programme, aired in 2021 and 2022, garnered a wide audience with over 400,000 followers and engagements on social media platforms.

Atul Tandon, country president of AstraZeneca Vietnam, said: “In addition to our goal of advancing science to bring about life-changing medicines, we also focus on raising awareness and providing patients with useful and practical medical knowledge so that they can better understand and care for their health and those around them.

“By creating a healthy and knowledgeable community, we are contributing to building a sustainable healthcare system for all the people of Việt Nam."

This year's lineup promises innovative content and formats to enhance dissemination and interaction among followers to create a more engaged and informed audience. – VNS
