YÊN BÁI — A tragic accident on the Nội Bài-Lào Cai Expressway on Monday left one person dead and another injured.

The collision, involving three vehicles, occurred at 6.45 am near the Ngòi Gùa Bridge in Yên Bái Province.

According to the Traffic Police Department, a truck driven by Lê Thanh Hải traveling from Lào Cai to Hà Nội collided with two other trucks heading in the opposite direction, one driven by Lê Anh Tuấn and one by Đặng Văn Quang.

The impact caused significant damage to all three vehicles.

Tragically, Lê Anh Tuấn was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in Đặng Văn Quang's truck sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The expressway section where the incident occurred is known for its lack of a hard median, a factor that may have contributed to the severity of the crash.
