Đông Đô Hospital, Singapore cardiovascular centre sign professional cooperation

HÀ NỘI — Đông Đô Hospital will cooperate with the Vascular & Interventional Centre, Singapore in the field of cardiovascular examination and treatment as part of a memorandum of understanding on professional cooperation signed on March 11.

The cooperation will mark a new step forward for the Hà Nội-based Đông Đô Hospital in the field of health care and treatment, bringing more options for patients with heart disease in Việt Nam.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Dr. Đinh Thị Phương Thủy, CEO of Đông Đô Hospital, said that the cooperation will focus on improving the capacity to diagnose and treat vascular diseases, as well as provide advanced and effective endovascular intervention methods for patients in Việt Nam.

"This cooperation is expected to help improve the quality of examination and treatment for patients, create new opportunities in providing quality medical services to the Vietnamese people as well as help reduce treatment costs for patients, especially sick people when travelling abroad for treatment," said Thủy.

Established in 2011, Đông Đô Hospital is one of the leading private general hospitals in Hà Nội, gathering leading experts in many fields, especially cardiology, ophthalmology and reproductive support. In 2016, Đông Đô was the first private hospital in the North to successfully perform aortic valve replacement. 

Dr. Benjamin Chua, professional director of the Singapore Vascular and Interventional Centre, also said that the cooperation will help the two sides accomplish great achievements together in patient health care and protection.

Dr. Chua also shared about the advanced treatment and diagnostic methods being applied at the Singapore Vascular and Interventional Centre in areas such as varicose veins of the lower limbs, and vascular diseases in the treatment of infertility treatment.

During the event, Dr. Chua and doctors of Đông Đô Hospital also performed free examinations for patients with signs of varicose veins as well as other vascular diseases.

Established in 2015, the Singapore Vascular & Interventional Centre is one of the largest vascular and intervention centres in Singapore. The centre has a team of quality vascular surgeons, proficient in endovascular and surgical treatments for all vascular-related diseases. — VNS
