HÀ GIANG — A wall at Nguyễn Huệ Elementary School in Quang Trung Ward, Hà Giang City, collapsed during repairs, killing one person and injuring three others.
On the evening of December 5, representatives from the Quang Trung Ward People's Committee in Hà Giang City reported the accident occurred around 5.30pm at Nguyễn Huệ Elementary School in Quang Trung Ward, Hà Giang City.
At that time, a group of four workers was repairing a boundary wall when it suddenly collapsed. The accident resulted in injuries to all four individuals, with one person sustaining severe injuries who died later at Hà Giang Provincial General Hospital.
The deceased male worker was identified as T. V. B., born in 1983, residing Vị Xuyên district, Hà Giang.
The three injured individuals are: Thèn Văn Điệp of Xin Mần district, and Lù Đình Tân and Trương Văn Trực both of Vi Xuyen district.
The injured victims were assisted and transported for emergency medical treatment at the Hà Giang Provincial General Hospital.
According to an eyewitness at the scene, the collapsed wall measured nearly 32 metres in length and stood over two metres tall.
City authorities are currently investigating the incident to determine the cause and ascertain the circumstances surrounding this tragic event. — VNS
