HÀ NỘI — The Prime Minister has requested the Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Construction, and relevant agencies, to review regulations on fire prevention.
In order to ensure full compliance with the provisions of the law, and effectively serve business activities, the review will promptly help management agencies promote reforms, reduce administrative procedures and meet practical requirements for socio-economic development.
Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính has signed Official Dispatch No 220/CD-TTg dated April 5, 2023, on solving obstacles of fire prevention and fighting works.
The Official Dispatch stated that construction works and business units that have difficulties and problems in fire prevention facilities will be classified specifically.
Ministries and relevant agencies shall promptly guide fully and in detail the regulations and solutions for agencies, enterprises and people in order to effectively serve production and business activities.
This classification will be completed by April 30, 2023.
The Ministry of Construction, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security and local authorities, will review and immediately supplement technical standards and regulations, ensuring they are consistent with the current practice on fire prevention, creating favourable conditions for production and business activities.
The Ministry of Construction will report the implementation results to the Prime Minister before April 30, 2023.
Chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and cities shall direct specific solutions to definitively handle violations of fire prevention and fighting in construction works.
In recent years, relevant ministries and local authorities, especially the Ministry of Public Security, have focused on effectively implementing fire prevention and fighting.
Positive results were gained in reducing the number of fires and the loss of life and property.
However, the inspection agencies have discovered that many construction works and business establishments have not fully met the safety conditions for fire and explosion prevention as prescribed by law.
There were still many fire hazards, so the inspection agencies forced some facilities to stop operating. —VNS
