KHÁNH HOÀ — Nha Trang City’s authorities have launched an investigation after a dog attacked foreign tourists in the city, leaving one of them with serious injuries.
According to the eyewitnesses, on Sunday morning, the two foreign male tourists were walking on 23/10 Street, Vĩnh Hiệp Commune, Nha Trang City, when a dog approached them and started to bite.
After the pair called for help, passersby managed to separate the dog from the tourists, taking the injured man to Khánh Hòa General Hospital.
The hospital said the victim was a 19-year-old male who suffered severe wounds on the right arm, including a bicep tendon tear, and smaller injuries to the left arm.

The other tourist was bruised trying to defend his friend.
The nationalities of the tourists have not been confirmed, but Facebook groups of communities in Nha Trang and Khánh Hòa suggested the pair are British visitors who travelled from HCM City.
The dog is reportedly a white Alabai dog about 65-78cm high and 20kg in weight.
Bùi Văn Nhiệm, chairman of Vĩnh Hiệp Commune People’s Committee, said the local police are working with the owner of the dog regarding the incident.
Nhiệm told local media that the dog apparently had been involved in some other attacks on residents in the past. The owner has been trying to transfer it to the care of someone else. — VNS
