HÀ NỘI — Four people have died and three injured in two traffic accidents in Quảng Ninh and Kon Tum provinces.
Early Monday morning, a car lost control and crashed into a barrier before plunging into the Ka Long River in Móng Cái City, Quảng Ninh Province, killing two people aged 32 and 38 on the spot and injuring the 36-year-old driver.
The main cause of the accident is due to the driver’s driving in the wrong lane and losing control of the speed, according to the authorities.
In a separate incident, a truck tilted on a bend and fell on another car at around 6pm Sunday in Lò Xo Pass in Kon Tum. The collision killed the 37-year-old father and 18-year-old son and injured the 35-year-old mother and two-year-old son of the family in the car.
The authorities are investigating both crashes.
According to the Traffic Police Department, a total of 11,448 traffic accidents occurred nationwide, causing 6,364 deaths and 7,828 injuries in 2022. — VNS
