HCM CITY — Bus route 109 from Saigon bus station (District 1) to Tân Sơn Nhất airport has returned to serve customers from 5:45 am to 23:40 pm daily.
Starting from September 13, bus route 109 is ready to serve after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The bus route connects Tân Sơn Nhất Airport and 23/9 Park (Saigon Bus Station). The bus route also passes Bến Thành Bus Station, making this route very convenient for tourists who are staying in the area around Bến Thành Market or the HCM City backpacker district.
The bus fare will be from VNĐ8,000 (US$.34) to VNĐ15,000 per ticket
The main bus stops on Saigon Bus 109 route from the airport to city center include airport International Terminal 2, airport Domestic Terminal 1, Trường Sơn, Trần Quốc Hoàn, Hoàng Văn Thụ, Nguyễn Văn Trỗi, Nam Kỳ Khởi Nghĩa, Hàm Nghi, Bến Thành Bus Station, Lê Lai, and 23/9 Park (Saigon Bus Station)
Võ Khánh Hưng, Deputy Director of the Department of Transport, said that the bus route would help the city to reduce traffic jams and environmental pollution, and solve the problem of reducing congestion at the airport.
Đào Viết Ánh, General Director of Phương Trang Joint Stock Company (bus operator), said that the unit had prepared vehicles and human resources to be ready for the operation of this bus route.
The route would add more public transport options for passengers at the airport, Ánh said.
Currently, there are two bus routes operating at the airport, routes 152 and 72-1.
The two bus lines already run through the international terminal.
Specifically, bus route 152 operates with a frequency of 76 trips per day with ticket prices of VNĐ5,000 per ticket and VNĐ3,000 for students; Bus route 72-1 operates with a frequency of 12 trips per day, with fares from VNĐ180,00-200,000 per ticket. — VNS
