LONG AN – Long An Province officials make sure that all industrial parks and clusters have a standardised and efficient sewage collection and treatment system by 2023. 

The province currently has 16 industrial parks and 22 industrial clusters, which are around 90 per cent occupied and almost all have sewage collection and treatment systems.

But the Đức Hòa Hạ, Đức Hòa Đông and Hoàng Gia industrial clusters are not fully collecting or treating wastewater, either not having built a central treatment plant or not operating it efficiently.

The Long An People’s Committee has instructed the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to inspect environmental protection at all industrial parks and clusters and concentrate on dealing with water pollution in canals.

The department will also closely monitor the wastewater treatment process at the Đức Hòa Hạ, Đức Hòa Đông and Hoàng Gia industrial clusters and slap fines on businesses that release excessive volumes of wastewater into the environment. – VNS.
