Việt Nam confirms 866 new COVID-19 infections on Wednesday

A total 866 new cases of COVID-19 and no deaths were recorded in Việt Nam on Wednesday, according to the Ministry of Health.

HÀ NỘI — A total of 866 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Việt Nam on Wednesday.

All of the new cases were locally transmitted. Hà Nội again reported the highest number of infections with 148, followed by Hải Phòng (123) and Nghệ An (43).

The others were detected in Bắc Ninh (40), Phú Thọ (40), Đà Nẵng (33), Quảng Bình (32), Yên Bái (32), Lào Cai (30), Quảng Ninh (28), Hà Nam (26), Bắc Kạn (21), HCM City (21), Nam Định (20), Tuyên Quang (18), Hưng Yên (18), Thái Nguyên (17), Hải Dương (16), Thái Bình (15), Quảng Trị (15), Hòa Bình (14), Vĩnh Phúc (14), Đồng Tháp (10), Ninh Bình (10), Hà Tĩnh (9), Sơn La (9), Lạng Sơn (8 ), Cao Bằng (7), Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu (7), Thanh Hóa (5), Bình Định (5), Gia Lai (5), Lai Châu (5), Điện Biên (3), Khánh Hòa (3), Bến Tre (3), Bắc Giang (3), Quảng Ngãi (2), Bình Phước (2), Tây Ninh (2), Đồng Nai (2), Bình Dương (1) and Hậu Giang (1).

The national caseload reached 10,734,151

A total of 5,382 COVID-19 patients were given the all-clear, bringing the number of recoveries so far to 9,574,270.

72 patients currently require breathing support. 

No deaths from COVID-19 were recorded in the past 24 hours. The total number of fatalities stands at 43,083, accounting for 0.4 per cent of total infections.

By Wednesday, 224,137,582 doses of COVID-19 vaccines had been administered in Việt Nam. Of these, more than 201.22 million were for adults, more than 17.5 million for those aged from 12 to 17 years old, and more than 5.4 million for children aged 5 to 11. — VNS
