Việt Nam reports 127,883 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday

Việt Nam has seen a constant decrease in the number of new daily COVID-19 infections, with 127,883 cases detected on Wednesday.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam has seen a constant decrease in the number of new daily COVID-19 infections, with 127,883 detected on Wednesday.

This is the seventh straight day the country has seen a decline in the number of new transmissions, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 8,479,751 since the start of the pandemic.

3,764 COVID-19 patients are in serious or critical condition, with the majority requiring oxygen masks, 289 requiring invasive ventilation and five on life support.

Hà Nội continues to top the daily numbers with 13,005 transmissions in the past 24 hours. 

The capital has more than 297,000 current COVID-19 cases, of which more than 99 per cent are being treated at home.

After review, the northern Tuyên Quang Province registered an additional 12,954 transmissions.

The remaining infections were found in Phú Thọ (5,307), Nghệ An (4,425), Lạng Sơn (4,408), Bắc Ninh (4,398), Lào Cai (4,149), Hải Dương (4,034), Bắc Giang (3,997), Yên Bái (3,993), Vĩnh Phúc (3,577), Đắk Lắk (3,479), Sơn La (3,321), Quảng Bình (3,175), Thái Bình (2,976), Hà Giang (2,934), Bến Tre (2,870), Tuyên Quang (2,856), Hưng Yên (2,740), Quảng Ninh (2,688), Cà Mau (2,678), Thái Nguyên (2,666), Hòa Bình (2,607), Cao Bằng (2,444), Bình Định (2,348), Điện Biên (2,319), Lâm Đồng (2,247), Vĩnh Long (2,172), Bắc Kạn (2,039), Quảng Trị (1,918), Lai Châu (1,903), Hà Nam (1,759), HCM City (1,582), Tây Ninh (1,569), Bình Phước (1,532), Bình Dương (1,457), Nam Định (1,389), Trà Vinh (1,313), Kon Tum (1,234), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (1,132), Đắk Nông (1,052), Ninh Bình (1,032), Hải Phòng (965), Hà Tĩnh (998), Thanh Hóa (935), Quảng Ngãi (897), Phú Yên (896), Khánh Hòa (819), Đà Nẵng (712), Thừa Thiên Huế (658), Bình Thuận (651), Quảng Nam (361), Bạc Liêu (254), An Giang (188), Long An (178), Đồng Nai (136), Kiên Giang (125), Cần Thơ (124), Đồng Tháp (78), Ninh Thuận (65), Sóc Trăng (60), Hậu Giang (44) and Tiền Giang (10).

Việt Nam reported 61 COVID-19 deaths on Wednesday, raising the nation's death toll since the pandemic started to 42,075, accounting for 0.5 per cent infections.

192,465 COVID-19 patients made a full recovery; the total number of recovered patients in Việt Nam has now reached 4,661,270.

More than 203 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Việt Nam, including 184.9 million doses in adults.

A total of 17.06 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been given to children aged 12-17 years. — VNS
