141,151 new coronavirus cases confirmed in Việt Nam on Sunday

There were 141,151 new COVID-19 infections recorded across Việt Nam on Sunday.

HÀ NỘI — There were 141,151 new COVID-19 infections recorded across Việt Nam on Sunday. 

The new cases bring the country's tally to 7,958,048 since the start of the pandemic.

Currently, 3,968 patients have severe infections, with five on life support.

On Sunday, the capital city of Hà Nội again registered the highest daily number of infections with 19,065, followed by Nghệ An Province with 9,333 and Phú Thọ Province with 5,747.

The remaining transmissions were found in Lạng Sơn (4,635), Đắk Lắk (4,595), Lào Cai (4,358), Vĩnh Phúc (4,162), Tuyên Quang (3,950), Bắc Giang (3,853), Hải Dương (3,724), Hòa Bình (3,644), Gia Lai (3,502), Sơn La (3,375), Quảng Bình (3,347), Yên Bái (3,342), Thái Bình (3,309), Thái Nguyên (2,866), Bắc Ninh (2,853), Hưng Yên (2,838), Điện Biên (2,778), Quảng Ninh (2,693), Bình Định (2,564), Cà Mau (2,441), Cao Bằng (2,321), Bến Tre (2,227), Lai Châu (2,066), Quảng Trị (1,943), Lâm Đồng (1,938), Hà Nam (1,888), Bình Phước (1,812), Bắc Kạn (1,809), Vĩnh Long (1,760), Hà Giang (1.760), Nam Định (1,634), HCM City (1,462), Trà Vinh (1,353), Tây Ninh (1,266), Phú Yên (1,213), Đắk Nông (1,196), Bình Dương (1,175), Ninh Bình (1,118), Kon Tum (1,051), Thanh Hóa (918), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (823), Đà Nẵng (765), Khánh Hòa (751), Hải Phòng (613), Thừa Thiên Huế (600), Quảng Ngãi (585), Bình Thuận (518), Quảng Nam (331), Bạc Liêu (267), An Giang (175), Đồng Nai (165), Long An (161), Cần Thơ (112), Đồng Tháp (92), Kiên Giang (89), Ninh Thuận (65), Tiền Giang (53), Hậu Giang (51) and Sóc Trăng (49).

After review, Vĩnh Phúc Province registered 25,056 additional cases. 

A total of 63 COVID-related deaths were also recorded, taking the total number of fatalities to 41,880, accounting for 0.5 per cent of total infections.

There were a further 111,635 recoveries, bringing the total number of people given the all-clear to 4,103,028.
