Việt Nam breaks daily COVID record with 175,480 cases

Việt Nam reported another record daily tally of COVID-19 infections on Tuesday with 175,480 new cases in 63 provinces and cities.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam reported another record daily tally of COVID-19 infections on Tuesday with 175,480 new cases in 63 provinces and cities.

The new record brings the total caseload in Việt Nam to 6,552,918 infections since the start of the pandemic.

Out of the new transmissions, 12 were imported and quarantined on arrival.

Hà Nội still topped the list of new infections with 26,708, followed by the central province of Nghệ An with 10,752, and Phú Thọ with 9,062.

The other areas recording new transmissions were: Hải Dương (5,464), Bắc Ninh (5,007), Thái Nguyên (4,920), Hưng Yên (4,906), Hòa Bình (4,846), Sơn La (4,827), Lạng Sơn (4,584), Cà Mau (4,476), Lào Cai (4,238), Hà Giang (4,025), Tuyên Quang (3,987), Đắk Lắk (3,980), Điện Biên (3,296), Bình Dương (3,294), Cao Bằng (3,056), Quảng Bình (3,024), Bắc Giang (2,997), Thái Bình (2,994), Vĩnh Phúc (2,993), Quảng Ninh (2,992), Gia Lai (2,872), Yên Bái (2,827), Nam Định (2,805), Lai Châu (2,593), Bình Định (2,567), Lâm Đồng (2,398), Hà Nam (2,391), Ninh Bình (2,316), HCM City (2,246), Quảng Trị (2,246), Tây Ninh (2,074), Hải Phòng (2,032), Bắc Kạn (1,950), Bình Phước (1,871), Khánh Hòa (1,725), Đắk Nông (1,627), Vĩnh Long (1,313), Đà Nẵng (1,277), Phú Yên (1,254), Bến Tre (1,072), Thanh Hóa (1,064), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (1,048), Hà Tĩnh (986), Trà Vinh (983), Quảng Ngãi (907), Bình Thuận (824), Quảng Nam (334), Bạc Liêu (244), Thừa Thiên Huế (228), Cần Thơ (195), Long An (169), Kiên Giang (137), An Giang (120), Đồng Tháp (68), Kon Tum (67), Đồng Nai (66), Sóc Trăng (65), Ninh Thuận (41), Hậu Giang (22) and Tiền Giang (16),

The average number of daily COVID-19 cases hit a record 166,671 over the past seven days.

The country added 68 more deaths related to COVID-19, with the total death toll reaching 41,477, about 0.7 per cent of total infections.

111,164 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the total number given the all-clear since the start of the pandemic to 3,383,142.

There are currently 4,269 people patients in serious condition, with five on life support.

More than 200 million vaccine doses have been administered in the country to date. — VNS
