HCM City universities tell students to return on Feb 14

Many universities and colleges in HCM City plan to resume in-person classes next Monday (February 14) with strict compliance with COVID-19 pandemic safety measures.

HCM CITY — Many universities and colleges in HCM City plan to resume in-person classes next Monday (February 14) with strict compliance with COVID-19 pandemic safety measures.

They are also preparing to combine online and direct classes to ensure a safe and healthy return of students.

Trần Nam, head of the communications and events department at the HCM City University of Social Sciences and Humanities, said students would return in two phases, with those  in high-quality training programmes, associates' programmes and in the final year of courses starting on February 14.

The rest will begin on February 28.

Nguyễn Trung Nhân, training department head at the Industrial University of HCM City, said students would return for practicals but learn theory lessons online for the next two weeks.

“Then the school will consider whether to ask all students to return.”

The HCM City University of Food Industry and HCM City University of Economics and Finance plan to begin between February 14 and 28.

Phạm Thái Sơn, director of the admissions and communication centre, the HCM City University of Food Industry, said depending on the pandemic situation classes would be in person or online.

Experimental and practical classes would be held at the university and theoretical classes would be taught online, he said. — VNS
