Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly (NA) Vương Đình Huệ had a meeting with Cuban revolution leader General Raúl Castro Ruz, and First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel in Havana on Thursday (local time).

During the meeting, Prime Minister Chính affirmed Việt Nam's commitment to strengthening relationships with traditional friends, with the Czech Republic regarded as a priority partner.

Việt Nam is willing to contribute to joint efforts in carrying out the 2030 Agenda via the promotion of South-South and tripartite cooperation, said the diplomat.

The event was also attended by Vice President of the NA of the People’s Power of Cuba Ana María Mari Machado, officials of Havana city and Plaza district, along with a number of local residents.

As scheduled, the Czech government leader will also witness the signing of bilateral cooperation pacts, pay a courtesy call to President Võ Văn Thưởng, and attend a Việt Nam -Czech Republic business forum.

The top legislator also used this occasion to deliver Vietnamese PM Phạm Minh Chính’s letter of congratulations to Manuel Marrero Cruz on his re-election as the PM of Cuba.
