HÀ NỘI — A specially arranged Vietnam Airlines (VNA) flight landed in Việt Nam on Saturday morning bringing home Vietnamese people stranded in Italy.

On Friday, the flight, arranged between Vietnamese authorities and the Italian Embassy in Việt Nam, took back to Italy a number of Italians who have been trying to return home.

The flight was part of efforts to help foreign diplomatic agencies in the country carry out citizen protection duties.

It also transported medical masks as a gift from the Vietnamese Government and people to Italy.

A number of Vietnamese citizens living in Italy came back on the return flight which landed in Đà Nẵng International Airport in central Đà Nẵng City on Saturday morning.

The transport was arranged as part of a joint effort of the Vietnamese representative offices and Vietnamese Embassy in Italy and the Vietnam Airlines.

Passengers returning home included Vietnamese students, children, disadvantaged and elderly people.

After touching down in Việt Nam, all passengers were immediately sent to quarantine and had health checks carried out.

The aircraft, the entire passenger cabin, cockpit and cargo storage area were disinfected after landing. — VNS
