Chairwoman of the National Assembly (NA) Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân said the production and sale of fake medicines are banned and will be severely punished during her meeting with voters in An Cư Ward, Ninh Kiều District, the Mekong Delta city of Cần Thơ on Thursday.

CẦN THƠ — Chairwoman of the National Assembly (NA) Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân said the production and sale of fake medicines are banned and will be severely punished during her meeting with voters in An Cư Ward, Ninh Kiều District, the Mekong Delta city of Cần Thơ on Thursday.

She met with the voters to hear their concerns over a number of political and social issues. The voters suggested to the leader that the quality of local-level healthcare quality should be improved.

Ngân promised to convey their concerns about the quality of treatment provided by commune- and district-level hospitals to the Government and related ministries.

She said university entrance examination cheating, ethics in schools and child sexual abuse are pressing social issues that are being tackled by competent agencies in line with the legal code.

Sharing the voters’ concerns about traffic accidents caused by drivers under the influence of drugs, she said violators would be handled according to the law and the fight against drug trafficking would continue.

Chairwoman Ngân also answered the voters’ concerns about the availability of rewards for those who have made contributions to the nation.

She informed the voters about the agenda for the seventh session of the NA, which is scheduled to open on May 20, and the country’s socio-economic performance so far this year. — VNS
