Brazil is an important partner in Latin America: NA Vice Chairman

Brazil is a leading partner of Việt Nam in Latin America, member of the Communist Party of Việt Nam Central Committee and National Assembly Vice Chairman Uông Chu Lưu said while being received by Brazilian Vice President Hamilton Mourao on Monday.

BUENOS AIRES — Brazil is a leading partner of Việt Nam in Latin America, member of the Communist Party of Việt Nam Central Committee and National Assembly Vice Chairman Uông Chu Lưu said while being received by Brazilian Vice President Hamilton Mourao on Monday.

Lưu said Việt Nam backed Brazil’s participation in the United Nations Security Council when it is expanded, and thanked the country for supporting Việt Nam’s candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the council for the 2020-21 tenure.

Mourao said Brazil considered Việt Nam a reliable partner and gives priority to the country in its foreign policy. He expressed his hope that both sides would try their best to boost two-way trade and investment.

On the same day, NA Vice Chairman Lưu had a working session with Acting Governor of the Federal District of Brasilia Paco Britto, during which he expressed his delight at visiting Brasilia on the occasion of the capital city’s 59th founding anniversary and witnessing the celebrations.

Britto emphasised his interest in co-operation in culture, economics and sports with Vietnamese cities.
