HCM CITY — Slovakian companies will enjoy optimal conditions for doing long-term business in areas of high demand, HCM City Chairman Nguyễn Thanh Phong said on Saturday.
Receiving Peter Pellegrini, Slovakian Deputy Prime Minister for Investment and Information, in HCM City, Phong said the visit would enhance traditional co-operation between the two countries in general and between HCM City and Slovakian localities in particular.
As bilateral relations between Việt Nam and Slovakia were consolidated, relations between HCM City and Slovakian localities, including Kosice city, were also being enhanced, he said.
He pledged HCM City would create optimal conditions for Slovakian companies to promote trade, investment cooperation and do long-term business in fields that the city has high demand for, including chemical industry, smart solutions, sustainable development, food industry and healthcare.
Phong asked the Deputy PM to encourage Slovakian firms to foster trade and investment co-operation with Việt Nam, including HCM City, thus contributing to the sustainable development of bilateral relations between Việt Nam and Slovakia.
Lauding the traditional friendship, Pellegrini said Việt Nam and Slovakia, as well as HCM City and Slovakian localities, hold huge potentials to further strengthen cooperation, especially in economy, trade and investment.
He thanked the city for its support for constructing a Việt Nam-Slovakia friendship building, a symbol for the two countries’ sound traditional friendship, and also called for the city’s businesses to explore Slovakia’s investment environment as a gateway to enter the European market.
