HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam and Denmark should maintain co-operation in legislative affairs and policy making in order to tighten the relations between the two legislative bodies and their offices, National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tòng Thị Phóng has stated.

Phóng made the suggestion at her reception in Hà Nội yesterday for a delegation from the Danish Parliament led by MP Eva Kjer Hansen.

She expressed her hope that the two parliaments would continue their delegation exchanges as well as close co-ordination at inter-parliamentary forums of which they are members.

Việt Nam wished to continue receiving support from the Danish Government and Parliament in responding to climate change and boosting green growth, she said.

The Vietnamese NA Vice Chairwoman also appreciated the Good Governance and Public Administration Reform Programme aided by the Danish Government, affirming that the programme has helped improve the capacity of Vietnamese NA deputies.

MP Hansen confirmed that her country was willing to collaborate with Việt Nam in fields such as renewable energy, green growth and climate change response.

She said she hopes the two countries would intensify the sharing of experience between their parliamentarians. — VNS
