HÀ NỘI – The Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Việt Nam appointed the Central Committee of the Police’s Party for the 2015-2020 tenure, naming Party General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng among them.
The Politburo’s decision was announced yesterday, with a Party General Secretary joining the committee for the first time.
The Police’s Party Central Committee has 16 members, with its 7-member standing board including Party General Secretary Trọng, State President Trần Đại Quang and Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc.
Addressing the ceremony, Party leader Trọng asked the Police’s Party Central Committee to work as a united group to exercise its leadership over the police.
Each member of the committee should bravely tackle challenges, stay tough, and be responsible, he said.
The committee needs to improve its analysis, assessment and forecasting to identify threats to national security and advise the Party and State how to deal with them, he stressed.
He reminded the committee to reinforce the Police Party Organisation and the police force in terms of leading and operating capacity. — VNS
