JICA helps boost PPP project implementation in Việt Nam

The Chief Representative of the Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA), Yasuo Fujita, has proposed measures to help the Vietnamese Government use official development assistance for public-private partnership (PPP) projects.

Viet Nam News –HÀ NỘI — The Chief Representative of the Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA), Yasuo Fujita, has proposed measures to help the Vietnamese Government use official development assistance for public-private partnership (PPP) projects. 

At his meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Trịnh Đình Dũng in Hà Nội yesterday, Fujita pledged to work to intensify the two countries’ relations and share with the host mechanisms to boost PPPs, particularly in infrastructure. 

He also made recommendations to help speed up the progress of several JICA-funded projects in Việt Nam. 

Deputy PM Dũng stressed that Việt Nam considered Japan its leading partner in trade and investment co-operation. 

Speaking of new co-operation mechanisms proposed by JICA, he said that Việt Nam currently had huge demand for resources for infrastructure. 

He affirmed that the involvement of the Vietnamese Government in PPP projects would help the implementation of these projects. — VNS
