Viet Nam News HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam will create favourable conditions for Brunei enterprises that wish to invest in the country, President Trần Đại Quang has said.
The President made the statement at a reception yesterday for Brunei Prince Pengiran Muda Abdul Qawi and accompanying businesses, who are on a visit to explore investment opportunities in the central province of Thanh Hóa.
Quang said that Việt Nam and Brunei had exchanged many high-ranking delegations, created a myriad of cooperation mechanisms and signed numerous bilateral agreements.
However, he noted that the two sides needed to further boost their collaboration in the economy and trade as it had not yet reached its potential and expectations.
The State leader appreciated the working trip by the Prince and his entourage to Thanh Hóa Province, which boasts rich natural resources, abundant labourers and has a high provincial competitive index.
For his part, Prince Pengiran Muda Abdul Qawi mentioned the fields Brunei has prioritised for investment in Việt Nam, and Thanh Hóa Province in particular. They are energy, infrastructure, industrial parks and clean energy.
Also yesterday, Deputy Prime Minister Trịnh Đình Dũng had a meeting with the Brunei prince, during which he said Việt Nam offered equal treatment and a favourable business climate for all overseas investors in the country.
Việt Nam highly valued the contribution of foreign investors in the country’s socio-economic development, Dũng said, adding that the country’s investment law and policies had been improved to open the door wider to foreign investment in all fields. — VNS
