PRAGUE — The Czech media has highlighted the visit of Vietnamese Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính, particularly the elevation of the bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership, which is expected to open up opportunities for the two countries to strengthen cooperation in economy, trade, and other fields.

Following the talks and the joint press conference between PM Chính and his Czech counterpart Petr Fiala, the Czech News Agency CTK reported on the upgrade of the bilateral relations as well as the two countries' desire to strengthen cooperation in various fields.

It quoted Fiala highlighting the prospects for Czech companies in the sectors of petrochemical industry, nuclear energy, medicine, and biotechnology in Việt Nam, as well as huge potential for business collaboration with the country, particularly in automobile manufacturing, defence industry, mining, and aerospace.

Meanwhile, the news site iDnes.cz published an article discussing key areas of cooperation when the leaders announced the upgrade of the bilateral relations, such as establishing a direct flight route, culture, and education. It also quoted information from the Office of the Czech President, highlighting the meeting between President Pavel and PM Chính, during which the leaders discussed the specific impacts of the elevation.

The Czech Television quoted Czech Minister of Industry and Trade Lukas Vlcek at the Việt Nam-Czech Republic Business Forum, affirming that Việt Nam is a promising market, regarded by foreign investors as one of the most attractive destination in the region. The Czech ministry is planning to organise several events in 2025 to further strengthen cooperation with Vietnam, including a Czech business forum in Hà Nội.

Earlier, the Novinky newspaper informed Czech readers about PM Chính's visit from January 18-20, as well as his meetings with Czech leaders and businesspersons. The article said Việt Nam is not only a market full of potential but also a gateway for Czech companies and goods to enter the region. Among the 41 Czech-invested projects in Việt Nam, it highlighted those in the automotive and energy sectors. — VNS
