The pagoda that sent its monks and nuns to fight for their country

Among the thousands of pagodas in Việt Nam, Cổ Lễ Pagoda in the northeastern province of Nam Dinh stands out. For centuries, inhabitants have cited three strange aspects of the edifice: its architectural mix of occident and orient, its bell, and its courageous monks and nuns who joined armies to fight against invaders. 

Southern art celebrated

The southern region’s largest exhibition this year, featuring 122 paintings and sculptures, is now on display at the HCM City Fine Arts Museum in District 1.   


 

Traffic safety film fest needs entries

Forming the traffic culture among Vietnamese youth is the theme of the national film festival about traffic safety that has recently been launched by the National Traffic Safety Committee, Department of Transportation Police (Ministry of Public Security) and Toyota Motors Vietnam in Hà Nội.
