HÀ NỘI — An exhibition entitled Infinity of Mirror by Christian Hadengue, Lê Thừa Tiến and Mark Lockett – an encounter between poetic and visual expressions, inspired by Western and Asian imaginations, will open at L’Espace tomorrow from 6pm.
This is a meeting between artists who have adopted a language naturally ‘out of step’ with their cultural backgrounds (Western and Asian) and a creation that reveals a deep fascination with ‘otherness’, in matter and in spirit. The question of cultural transversality becomes a deliberate choice. The notion of ‘origin’ is sidestepped, so that an instinctive and intuitive vision is found: a way of thinking beyond defined cultural boundaries.
The exhibition is expected to be a unique experience, allowing the audience to enjoy calligraphic artworks by Hadengue and Tiến’s paintings, with music composed by Lockett in the background, accompanied by Hubert Haddad’s poems.
The free exhibition will run until October 31, 9am-8pm. L’Espace is at 24 Tràng Tiền Street. — VNS
