HÀ NỘI – A lacquer exhibition featuring works by seven young artists studying at the Vietnam University of Fine Arts will be held from July 26 to August 9.
Vàng Son Vóc Thép will feature 30 works consisting of traditional folk theme paintings, experimental works as well as demonstrations showing the process of completing a traditional lacquer painting.
Vàng (gold leaf), son (vermilion red from cinnabar), vóc (lacquer panel) and thép (lacquer brush) are most important elements in lacquer art.
This is also the debut of art space The Painter’s Gallery where art students and emerging artists can curate, install and sell their own works in a professional setting.
The exhibition will take place at The Painter’s Gallery, the 2nd floor, 60 Nguyễn Trường Tộ Street, Ba Đình District, Hà Nội. — VNS
