HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese-French visual artist Bảo Vương will present his latest series of paintings and a performance at the exhibition Another Crossing, which will open at Manzi Art Space tomorrow.

Born in Việt Nam in the late 1970's, Vương's family left the country when he was one year old on a boat.

The series of paintings in the exhibition is a projection of the nights on the open seas by his family on the run. Black paint awakens fears associated with exile, while reflections of light on the paint strokes represent shimmers of hope that give birth to a survival instinct, echoing the promise for a better world.

The performance piece entitled Nước (Water) shows the creation of a graphic work in situ, which will start on the first day of the exhibition and will end four days later.

The exhibition will be open from 6pm on June 7 until July 5. Nước will be presented at 7pm, from June 7 to 11. Manzi Art Space is at 14 Phan Huy Ích Street, Ba Đình District. Free entrance. VNS
