HÀ NỘI — The Văn Hóa (Culture) newspaper will host an art show commemorating President Hồ Chí Minh’s birthday (May 19, 1890 - 2019) at Hà Nội’s Opera House on May 19.
The show is the third of its kind.
Titled Quà Tháng 5 Dâng Người (May Gift to President Hồ), the show will be directed by Meritorious Artist Quốc Hưng, director of Vocal Faculty, Việt Nam National Music Academy.
“A new feature of this year’s show is that it will gather leading pop singers from the north like Trọng Tấn, Tân Nhàn, Anh Thơ, Meritorious Artist Quốc Hưng, Meritorious Artist Đăng Dương, Meritorious Artist Phương Thảo, the children’s choir from Thiên Phúc Club, the choir from the academy, and the Camelia Dancing Troup,” Hưng said.
He also said that the selected songs will be suitable to singer Trọng Tấn with songs Bên Lăng Bác Hồ (Standing next to President Hồ’s Mausoleum) and Người Về Thăm Quê (Visiting Homeland); Tân Nhàn with Lời Ca Dâng Bác (Songs Dedicating President Hồ) and Miền Trung Nhớ Bác (Central Region Remembers President Hồ).
Chu Thu Hằng, editor-in-chief of the newspaper, said it is an honour for the newspaper to host the show every birthday of President Hồ.
The show is expected to offer deep feelings dedicated to the late president, she said.
The show will start at 8pm, May 19, at the Opera House, 1 Tràng Tiền Street, Hà Nội. — VNS
