Sin Suối Hồ Market in the northern province of Lai Châu is 35km from Lai Châu City. The market takes place once a week on Saturday, where locals not only exchange goods, meet one another, but also relax, and have fun. The market is a popular tourist destination.

According to local elders, there was no market in the commune until 2014, when Sin Suối Hồ village was recognised as a Cultural Village.

Top threads: A stall for traditional costumes.

Before the market was formed, locals had to walk 30km to the centre of Mường So Commune or to San Thàng Market in Lai Châu City. The market here has made life easier.

There are over 40 stalls, offering produce, traditional costumes, utensils and other items.

Sin Suối Hồ Market is also called Stone Market as it was designed as a circle with stalls walled in by big stones.

Weekly shop: People buy vegetables at the market.
