HÀ NỘI — International fashion brands and designers will present their latest collections during the Việt Nam International Junior Fashion Week 2018 (VNIJFW) from December 21 to 23.

A catwalk will be set up in front of Đoan Môn Gate of the Thăng Long Imperial Citadel to promote the image of an important vestige of Hà Nội’s history.

The event will star 400 young models presenting 13 collections by domestic and foreign designers from countries such as Spain, the UK, Thailand and South Korea, according to the event’s director and founder Lê Trần Đắc Ngọc.

“It’s chance for us to come closer to the customers and introduce our high quality designs,” he said.

The models include Nguyễn Nhật Hạ Vi, who received an award at the Luxury Brand Kids Model Awards 2018 in South Korea, and foreign models selected by the designers to perform their collections.

They will perform latest designs including casual wear, smart casual, party dress and gowns for children.

Your Style Fashion Show will be held as part of the fashion week on December 23 at Lý Thái Tổ Park by Hoàn Kiếm Lake. The event will introduce both menswear and womenswear of participating brands such as Tamara Joseph (the UK), Maroyal (Spain), Đắc Ngọc Designer House, La Sen Vũ, Mommy Bird, Lan Hương, My Fashion (Việt Nam) and Chula (Spain).

Designer Đỗ Quyên Hoa said she will introduce a collection of áo dài (traditional long dress) with strong colours such as black, red and yellow.

“In this collection, I use patterns of foliage to show respect to nature and strong colours to bring warm feelings in winter,” she said.

Diego Cortizas from the Chula brand said the fashion industry has developed rapidly in Việt Nam. More international brands are showing interest in the Vietnamese market.

“We aim to bring good products for customers,” he said. “The number of foreign brands engaging with the event proves that Việt Nam is a promising market. The fashion week is a prestigious event.” — VNS
