Int’l news channel France 24 to air in VN

International news channel France 24 has been officially granted permission to broadcast its French programming in Việt Nam by the Ministry of Information and Communications, according to the Embassy of France in Việt Nam.

HÀ NỘI — International news channel France 24 has been officially granted permission to broadcast its French programming in Việt Nam by the Ministry of Information and Communications, according to the Embassy of France in Việt Nam.

Deputy Minister Hoàng Vĩnh Bảo granted the permission to Marie-Christine Saragosse – Chairwoman and CEO of France Médias Monde, on November 2 during French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe’s official visit to Việt Nam.

Last May, representatives of France 24 signed distribution agreements on airing programmes in English with five operators in Việt Nam – VTVCab, Viettel, HTV-TMS, Clip TV and K+.

France 24 has been included in the service package from FPT Telecom and VNPT Media since November 2016.

France 24 is an international channel broadcast in four languages – English, French, Spanish and Arabic, presenting international news via its 160 correspondent bureaus all over the world. The channel is now available on cable television, satellite and online. — VNS
