VN hosts exchange programme for Asian painters

More than 20 artists from Việt Nam and other ten Asian countries are joining an exchange programme in northern province of Ninh Bình between August 21 and 24.

HÀ NỘI — More than 20 artists from Việt Nam and 10 other Asian countries are taking part in a four-day exchange programme starting today (August 21) in the northern province of Ninh Bình.

They will paint in an open camp at the Hoa Lư Ancent Citadel and then display their works at an exhibition in downtown Hà Nội.

Five artists from Việt Nam are among them, Lê Thế Anh, Vũ Bạch Liên, Nguyễn Nghĩa Phương, Nguyễn Vũ Quyên, and Vũ Đình Tuấn.

There are 17 others from China, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.

Vi Kiến Thành, director of the Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition Department, said in recent years the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has hosted various exhibitions and exchange activities with artists from Asian countries to create friendly and co-operative relations among artists in the region.

The works created in Ninh Bình will be displayed at an exhibition at 29 Hàng Bài Street from August 25 to September 3. — VNS
