HÀ NỘI — Promising faces for world fashion shows and events will be trained professionally through a new project called Leading Stars.

The Leading Media Company launched the project in Hà Nội yesterday with the aim of finding and training professional models, actors and singers, who will then have the chance to attend entertainment events worldwide such as New York Couture Fasion Week, Paris Fashion Week and Vancouver Fashion Week.

The selected candidates will represent Việt Nam at international beauty contests including Miss Earth, Man Hunt International, Mister Global and Miss Asia Global. Currently, the company holds a copyright for 10 international beauty contests with the right to send contestants to attend.

Candidates can submit their applications to the project from now to August 19.

Casting calls to select finalists will take place on August 26 in Hà Nội and September 22 in HCM City.

They will be considered by a jury board including trainer Phúc Nguyễn, designer Cory Dũng Trần (jury member of Miss Earth 2017), Miss Việt Nam 1994 Nguyễn Thu Thủy, Miss Global 2017 Barbara Vitorelli, winner of Manhunt International 2017 Trương Ngọc Tình and designer Tuyết Lê, winner of the Global Short Films Awards Festival at Cannes Film Festival 2018.

The finalists will be trained by professional experts at home and at Kagandahang Flores pageant camp (Philippines), where many famous beauty queens and stars have been trained.

Miss Việt Nam 1994 Nguyễn Thu Thủy said the project would provide a good chance for young stars of Việt Nam to shine.

“We target young faces who can represent Việt Nam on the international stage,” she said.

On the occasion, Miss Global 2017 Barbara Vitorelli presented the official rights of the Miss Global pageant to Việt Nam. The Leading Media Company will be in charge of selecting a candidate to represent the country at the pageant.
