HÀ NỘI — The lead singers of a revolutionary music trio will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their career with a live show in Hà Nội on August 26.

Trio Trọng Tấn, Đăng Dương and Việt Hoàn have performed together at hundreds of shows over the past two decades, with popular hits that have won them a large fanbase.

The pioneers revived patriotic songs and brought fresh inspiration to the music world.

“Many people have asked me why I don’t do a solo show,” said Việt Hoàn. “This time I have spent a lot of time and energy to create a show for us. We have all spent lots of time and money, too. This is a show that we want to dedicate to the audience who have supported us over the years. We hope they’ll be happy.”

Singers Anh Thơ and Lan Anh will also be on stage.

The show will take place at 8pm, August 26, the Friendship Culture Palace.

The trio sang together for the first time in public in 1998 at the National Students’ Music Festival. With the song Việt Nam Trên Đường Chúng Ta Đi (Việt Nam on the Way We Go) by composer Huy Du.

The three singers had also performed separatedly and won awards before they teamed up, but failed to capture the audience’s attention

“At that time, with the support from my teacher Quang Thọ, I decided to ask Trọng Tấn and Đăng Dương to work  with me to create something new,” Việt Hoàn recalled.

For the past 20 years, the trio has been inspiring audiences with patriotic songs full of feelings. — VNS
