American pianist Ory Shihor will perform with Vietnamese pianist Nguyễn Bích Trà at the Soul Music and Performing Arts Academy in HCM City on Friday.
Bích Trà, who is based in London, received a master’s degree from the College of Music and Media in London, after completing an advanced course at the Royal Acadmey of Music and graduating from the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory in 1997.
The two pianists will talk about their experiences in becoming professional musicians during the event, which is part of the Soul Connects project for aspiring musicians.
Shihor received a scholarship from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation when he was 12. He studied at the Curtis Institute of Music and the Juilliard School in New York, where he won the Gina Bachauer International Young Artists Piano Competition.
He is also the founder of the Colburn Music Academy in California, and teaches piano at his school and Colburn Conservatory.
