Three countries showcase their cultures at museum

THÁI NGUYÊN — Various cultural activities featuring the cultural identities of Malaysia, Indonesia and Việt Nam are on at the Museum of Việt Nam’s Ethnic Groups in the northern province of Thái Nguyên.

Traditional costumes, handicraft and fine arts are in the spotlight, along with documentary screenings on the cultures of these countries.

The delegation from Malaysia includes 25 artisans, teachers and students from Teknologi Mara University, while Indonesia has sent Batik expert Venny Afwany Alasmasyah and two other colleagues.

Some 30 handicraft artisans from six ethnic groups of Việt Nam - Mông, Dao, Thái and Chăm, as well as Tày and Pà Thẻn - together with hearing-impaired artisans from the Kym Việt Company and traditional long dress embroider Lan Hương are also participating in the event.

The artisans will showcase their skills and exchange experiences with their colleagues from other countries.

The activities will continue until December 11. — VNS
