HỘI AN — An Bàng Seaside Village, a home-stay complex in An Bàng beach of Hội An city, has received the ASEAN Homestays 2016 award from the Việt Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT).
The An Bàng Seaside Village homestay was one of three homestay service groups in Việt Nam winning the award this year, including homestay in Bắc Hà District, Lào Cai Province, and the community based-tourism site in Lác Hamlet, Mai Châu District of Hòa Bình Province.
This is the first year that Việt Nam has won three ASEAN Homestay awards since ASEAN Homestay standards were set by ASEAN member states in 2011 and announced in 2012.
There are five ASEAN homestay groups awarded every year, including five homestays in one group from each member state.
VNAT also said 10 hotel resorts in Việt Nam have been recognized with the ASEAN Green Hotel 2016-18 award, including Rex Hotel, Caravelle Saigon, Majestic Hotel, Grand Hotel, Sheraton Saigon, Equatorial Hotel in HCM City, InterContinental Westlake in Hà Nội, Six Senses Ninh Thuận Bay, Sunrise Hotel in Khánh Hòa Province and Hoàng Anh Đà Lạt Resort in the Central Highlands Lâm Đồng Province.
Built in 2012, An Bàng Seaside Village includes four fruit house (Mango, Papaya, Avocado and Banana) with four cottages located 50m from the beach.
The Beach Front was built with the Ocean Dream and the Ocean Breeze rooms on the beach, offering views of the beach and ocean.
The Flower House was completed in 2013 with three rooms -- the Jasmine, the Lily and the Hibiscus – all in one building that is located 100m from the ocean.
An Bàng Beach, 3km east of Hội An, was also voted one of the top 25 beaches in Asia by travel website TripAdvisor.
Local residents keep the beach clean, removing any rubbish they find.
In 2013, An Bàng Beach was voted one of the top 100 beaches in the world by CNN Summer Travel.
In 2015, TripAdvisor rated Hội An silk village to be a living museum of silk craft, the third best attraction in the tourism hub. — VNS
