Coastal central city to launch summer vacations

Eight beach soccer teams will kick off the summer vacations in the central city by competing in the city’s beach soccer championship – VITRACO Cup – on Mỹ Khê Beach from April 26th.

ĐÀ NẴNG — Eight beach soccer teams will kick off summer vacation in the central city by competing in the city’s beach soccer championship – VITRACO Cup – on Mỹ Khê Beach from April 26th.

The Sơn Trà Peninsula and tourism beach management board said the annual beach soccer championship is one of series sports and entertainment programmes launching the summer holidays on the beach of Đà Nẵng from late April through May Day vacation.

The five-a-side beach soccer will serve as a dynamic sport for tourists on the beach of Mỹ Khê – one of the most attractive and popular beaches among eight coastal destinations in the tourism hub.

Teams will be playing in a round-robin format in two groups with two top each qualifying in semi-final, and the final match will be scheduled on May 1st.

A series of entertainment and art performance programmes are planned after the beach soccer event, offering more options for visitors on the beach from morning till late in the evening.

Kite flyers will demonstrate from 30 to 50 colourful kites over the East Sea Park, operating from 3pm to 6pm on April 27-29, the summer festival organisers said.

A cuisine space will be displayed on the beach of East Sea Park from 3pm to 10pm from April 26 to May 1. Visitors could find local taste and specialties of central Việt Nam in the ocean air on the beach.

Local sculptors will create sand artworks on the beach from 8 to 10am from April 26 to May 1, before completing hand-made sand sculpture by an outdoor exhibition event.

Visitors can experience riding jet ski, paragliding and motor-gliding, and joining the Đà Nẵng International Lifesaving Championship on April 27th.

Yogi and dancers will have two performances at 6am and 7pm, respectively on the East Sea Park on April 29.

Local artisans will offer a workshop of painting on conical hat and canvas bag from 3pm to 9pm at pavilions on the beach from April 27-28.

Free entrance art performances and music events will be staged every night from April 27 through May Day vacation.

A photo exhibition on Sơn Trà Peninsula and a tour service on watching red-shanked doucs langurs in the Sơn Trà Nature Reserve will be opened for tourists during the summer festival.

Đà Nẵng has assigned the An Thượng night tourism zone on the beach of Mỹ Khê for night entertainment.

The central city has targeted to host 8.4 million tourists, with 2.5 international visitors, in 2024.

In the first quarter of 2024, the city welcomed 1.6 million passengers on 9,500 flights including 25 MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Conference and Exhibition) teams with more than 9,000 delegates.

Đà Nẵng has been a favourite venue for Indian rich families celebrating their weddings at luxury beach-front resorts.

The city’s Bàn Cờ (Chess Board) Mountain, one of the highest points of the Sơn Trà Nature Reserve, was chosen as a check-in site by Bill Gates during his stop at Đà Nẵng City in March. VNS
