HÀ NỘI — Céline Nhã Nguyễn, the first Vietnamese woman to conquer the summit of Mount Everest, will share her inspiring stories with visitors of Balade en France 2024 – an event held to honour French cuisine and promote the upcoming Olympic Games Paris 2024.

At a press conference in Hà Nội on Wednesday morning, French Ambassador to Việt Nam Olivier Brochet said that Balade en France 2024 will be organised at its largest-ever scale since its debut in 2018 in Việt Nam. The event will take place from April 5 to 7 at Thống Nhất Park.

Organised by the French Embassy in Việt Nam, in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Hà Nội, the event, in its fourth season, will showcase more than 80 booths featuring a wide range of French products, from food to cosmetics, cars and education.

Hà Nội residents and visitors to the city will be able to immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of a French market and indulge in high-quality food products from France. They will have a chance to sample food and learn about key creations of French cuisine such as dairy, chocolate, bakery, cheese, cold cuts, fruit and wine.

Celebrity chef Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng, aka Hungazit, who is the author of several favourite cookbooks, will unveil his cooking recipes using French products. Other popular chefs will participate in demonstrations during the event.

“Visiting the festival, guests will have a chance to learn about premium-quality products and perceive the spirit of responsibility, uniqueness, and innovation in French cuisine,” said Ambassador Brochet.

Especially, to promote the Olympic 2024 and Paralympic Paris 2024, the Balade en France will include a mini sports village, where festival goers can try several games for free such as volleyball, badminton, table tennis, archery and darts.

“This year’s Balade en France has been held focusing on the theme ‘Food Festival – Colours of Olympic’. Alongside the debut of a sports village, we also wish to promote good and healthy habits through choosing quality food and exercising to maintain a healthy life,” said the ambassador.
