HÀ NỘI — A photography and video contest themed Technology with Heart has been officially launched by Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and Viettel Group.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, General Director of VNA Vũ Việt Trang said the awards aim to honour major contributions of technology, spread beautiful images and meaningful messages brought to life using tech and contribute to building a digital society where everyone is better served, happier, wealthier and safer.

The organising committee encourages all Vietnamese citizens worldwide to showcase their talent, dedication and creativity through capturing images of the achievements and benefits of technology in order to build a humane world in the digital age.

This is the first time that a photo and video award with the theme of technology is being organised in Việt Nam, with the largest prize value ever at VNĐ1 billion (US$40,600).

The entries have to showcase one of the following contents: the Digital Government to better serve the people, the Digital Economy to make people wealthier, the Digital Society to make people happier and Cybersecurity to make people live and work safer in the Digital Environment.

According to Nguyễn Hà Thành, head of Branding and Communications Department at Viettel Corporation, the photo and video entries are expected to visualise a painting of technologies reflected in all aspects of life, thereby inspiring the Vietnamese people to enhance their use of technology and encouraging technology enterprises to participate more intensively and actively in solving life's challenges through technology.

“Through the contest, Viettel wishes to share the desire to accompany and collaborate with technology enterprises in Việt Nam as well as worldwide to accelerate the goal of building a digital society in Việt Nam. This collaboration aims to ensure a faster pace of development and meet the national strategic objectives and digital transformation that the Government has established,” she added.

Technology with Heart contest will accept entries until April 30. The awarding ceremony is expected to take place in May.
