Westlife returns to Việt Nam for a year-end concert

The Irish music group Westlife excited its fans by announcing a return to Việt Nam for a performance on November 22.

HCM CITY — The Irish music group Westlife excited its fans by announcing a return to Việt Nam for a performance on November 22.

On the evening of September 19, Westlife posted on its official fan page a poster for its performance at Thống Nhất Stadium in HCM City as part of its The Wild Dreams' Tour.

The group wrote: "Việt Nam! We are very excited to return with the Wild Dreams' Tour on November 22, 2023. Tickets will be on sale from September 26, so don't miss out."

Immediately, the post received nearly 6,000 reactions from Vietnamese fans and 1,500 comments, with over 1,000 shares.

Many fans commented about inviting friends to go together or expressed their excitement about the Irish male music group returning to Việt Nam.

The poster mentioned the event's website as Westlifevietnam.vn.

In 2011, Westlife first came to Việt Nam to perform as part of the Westlife Gravity Tour at Mỹ Đình Stadium in Hà Nội.

Later, in 2014, singer Shane Filan, the group's lead vocalist, came to HCM City for a performance in the You & Me Tour Live in Saigon event in District 4.

In 2017, Filan returned to Việt Nam for a performance at the "Love Always" music night in HCM City.

He sang a series of famous songs by himself and Westlife, such as Uptown Girl, Beautiful in White, Tonight and You Raise Me Up.

Westlife is a pop music group founded in Dublin, Ireland in 1998.

The group consists of members Shane Filan, Mark Feehily, Kian Egan, and Nicky Byrne. In addition, former member Brian McFadden left the group in 2004.

In 2012, the group disbanded and then reunited in 2018 to continue their music career.

Westlife is particularly famous among Vietnamese audiences from the 1990s and 2000s.

The group has released 11 albums that reached number one in Ireland, along with 16 number one singles and 34 top 50 singles.

The group has sold 55 million records worldwide and set four Guinness World Records.

Westlife's songs are very familiar to Vietnamese audiences, including My Love, I Lay My Love on You, Queen of My Heart, Seasons in the Sun, Mandy, Fool Again, Swear It Again, When You Tell Me That You Love Me, and more.
