HÀ NỘI — The photo series capturing the flying performances of Su-30MK2 aircraft by photojournalist Nguyễn Tiến Anh Tuấn has won the special prize of the "Golden Moment" photo contest.

In the photos, Su-30MK2 aircraft of the Vietnamese Air Force perform aerial manoeuvres over the sky of Hà Nội at the opening ceremony of the Việt Nam Defence Exhibition 2022, creating a remarkable and impressive scene.

The 6th Golden Moment photo contest was launched on the 98th anniversary of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day (June 21). It was organised by the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) in collaboration with the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, aiming to commemorate the 78th anniversary of the company's traditional day (May 19, 1945-2023).

Speaking at the awards ceremony of the contest that took place at the National Press Centre on Thurday, Trần Thị Thu Đông, chairwoman of the Vietnam Photographers Association, stated that the winning photo series captured rare and challenging moments that require solid knowledge and experience in photography.

The photo series featuring President Võ Văn Thưởng and his South Korean counterpart, Yoon Suk Yeol, together with their spouses taking a stroll at Hoàn Kiếm (Sword) Lake, captured by photographer Trần Thanh Hải won second prize.

According to VNA General Director Vũ Việt Trang, chairwoman of the photo contest council, the contest continues to be a significant platform for journalists and photographers nationwide to reflect all aspects of life.

She emphasised the value of photojournalistic works and the courage and readiness of journalists and photographers in following events.

After nearly two months since its launch, the Golden Moment Photo Contest 2023 received 4,102 single photos and 587 photo series from 556 contestants across the country.

The organising committee gave prizes to 22 works. In the category of individual photos, there were two second prizes and two third prizes (no first prizes or special prizes awarded).

In the category of photo series, besides one special prize, there was one first prize, one second prize, and three third prizes. — VNS
