ĐÀ NẴNG – The central city of Đà Nẵng in collaboration with the Việt Nam Fine Arts Association are organising an exhibition showcasing paintings and sculptures of artists from Tây Nguyên (Central Highlands) and the central provinces.

The event aims to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).

The exhibition showcases 167 works created from August 2021 to mid-2022 by 156 artists from the city and provinces of Quảng Nam, Quảng Ngãi, Bình Định, Phú Yên, Khánh Hoà, Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Đắk Lắk and Đà Nẵng.

All art works feature various themes of love for the country, life, lifestyle, traditional festivals, landscapes and people, and are made from different materials such as oil, acrylic, water colour, lacquers, stone, cooper and metal.

Works such as the paintings Bám Biển Cùng Ngư Dân” (Stand side by side with fishermen) and Tây Nguyên Vào Hội (Central Highlands in festival season) have left an impression on viewers.

Lương Xuân Đoàn, chairman of the Việt Nam Fine Art Association, said the exhibition has seen many works by new artists which reflect the strong comeback and development of Vietnamese contemporary art after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Each work conveys a message on love for life and people from the artists, who have worked hard to contribute to the development of the country’s art and culture imbued with national identity, Đoàn added.

The exhibition will open for the public until September 5 at the APEC Park in Hải Châu District. — VNS
