Trần Xuân Phước, director of the Đắk Lắk Province Elephant Conservation, Animal Rescue and Forest Protection Management Centre, said that the centre created this special festival to spread awareness on elephant conservation to the people of the Central Highlands and Đắk Lắk Province.
The activity aimed to educate elephant owners on conservation procedures and the welfare of elephants while also giving them a chance to meet and share their experiences of taking care of the animal.
This occasion was also used to recognise the great value that these animals have contributed to the people's everyday life.

Đắk Lắk Province has been looking into elephant conservation procedures in recent years as the number of wild elephants in the province and Central Highlands are quickly decreasing due to insufficient conservation methods and over-hunting. – VNS.
