HÀ NỘI — Trường Hải Auto Corporation (THACO) shipped a haul of 80 Kia Soluto cars to Myanmar on August 26, all of which had been manufactured at the Thaco Kia factory in the Thaco-Chu Lai Industrial Park in Quảng Nam Province.

The shipment marks the third batch of locally-produced passenger cars that THACO has exported to Myanmar since last December.

These efforts to ship their products to foreign markets indicate the firm is gradually realising its goal of developing into a production and export hub of Kia Motors in the ASEAN region.

THACO’s import partner is Super Seven Stars Motors Industry Co Ltd (SSS), based in Yangon, Myanmar. Indeed, SSS is the exclusive distributor of Kia cars in Myanmar, and manufactures and trades both Peugeot and SsangYong cars and buses.

THACO sent its first shipment of 120 Kia Cerato Deluxe passenger cars to Myanmar in late 2019. The second shipment came in May 2020 when the corporation continued to export an additional 80 Kia Cerato cars to the market, receiving plenty of positive feedback in the process.

Moreover, August 22 saw THACO deliver a shipment of 80 Kia Grand Carnival cars to Thailand.

In addition to passenger cars, THACO also has plans to export semi-trailers to Myanmar in November. — VNS
