VPBank donates VNĐ10 billion to fight COVID-19

VPBank on Wednesday announced to donate VNĐ10 billion (US$430,780) to Đà Nẵng City and Quảng Nam Province in a fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

HÀ NỘI — VPBank on Wednesday pledged to donate VNĐ10 billion (US$430,780) to Đà Nẵng City and Quảng Nam Province for the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

VPBank said it was deeply impressed with the resilience and determination of the two localities in limiting the spread of the virus as well as treating both patients and ensuring safety for local people.

The bank donated VNĐ5 billion for the newly completed field hospital in Đà Nẵng’s Hòa Vang District and another VNĐ5 billion for Quảng Nam to buy important medical equipment.

In March 2020, VPBank and its subsidiary FeCredit transferred VNĐ15 billion to the Việt Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee and relevant functional units such as the Ministry of Health and the National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control to contribute to the response and reduction of damage from the pandemic to the community. VPBank's total contribution to society to combat the pandemic has reached VNĐ25 billion.

VPBank believed that with the Government’s determination and help from the business community and people nationwide, Đà Nẵng City and Quảng Nam Province, as well as the country, would definitely win against the pandemic.
