HÀ NỘI — HSBC Vietnam in collaboration with non-governmental organisations such as the Worldwide Orphans Foundation (WWO), VinaCapital Foundation and Supporting Community Development Initiatives (SCDI) has kicked off a relief programme to support people who have been seriously impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The VNĐ3 billion (US$127,000) programme includes three projects which are expected to extend support to around 10,000 people of different backgrounds who are considered the most vulnerable groups.

As an initial action, two projects will provide basic relief such as food, shelter, medicine and therapy sessions, as well as special home education platforms for migrants, the homeless, off-the-book workers and disabled children with a disadvantaged background and their caregivers.

For the long term, another project will install clean water filtration systems for public hospitals in remote communes, benefiting healthcare workers and patients in these areas. — VNS
